Hi.

Welcome to my blog!

🎶Let’s talk about books, baby
Let’s talk about you and me
Let’s talk about all the good things
And the bad things that may be
Let’s talk about books🎶

Read Or Listen?

Read Or Listen?

When I saw the first promos for the Game Of Thrones TV show I was really excited for it. Then when I learned this awesome show was based on books? I was over the moon!!!🌙🐄. However, I quickly learned these GOT books were a lot to handle, well, and to be honest, the show is a lot to handle as well. I tried to read the books back in 2011 and quickly gave it up- I was taking notes and it was giving me a headache. It has taken countless rewatches and discussions with friends to get the best possible handle on just the show. I’ve always wanted to read the books but those books are behemoths and I already have 100’s of other books I want to read and listen to. But that constant feeling of wanting to experience these books has been with me for almost 10 years.

For awhile now I have been thinking about listening to the series. Although, I just added up the hours it would take to listen to all 5 books that currently out. Do you know what that total comes to? Almost 200 hours!!! I don’t even think all the episodes of the show equal 200 hours! I really want to read/listen to the GOT books. Maybe it’s because I’m still experiencing a GOT TV show withdrawal… but listening to the books has been on my mind for about 3 years and in hindsight, I would have finished with the books by now if I would have started them when I started my Libro.Fm account.. Hindsight is a bitch. If I start them now, I will probably still finish them by the time Martin comes out with the next book. Which would be nice because then I could just jump right into the new book. Because honestly, the last season of GOT was, well, the nicest way to say it is, lackluster… or cringeworthy… they both work. I’m so interested to see how Martin truly envisioned the ending and I want to be ready for when that book finally hits the shelves!

my biggest problem with getting the audiobooks is that I already own the physical books. That’s what has been holding me back but if I'm honest with myself, I know I won’t actually read those books and my only real option is to listen to them or just deal with not reading the books… oh the problems of a book worm…

-Happy Reading!
