May Reading Wrap Up!

May Reading Wrap Up!

I can’t believe I'm writing May’s Reading Wrap Up post… How is May over? What is happening?!?!?!

This was an amazing reading month! I was determined to read as many books as I could this month. I’ve been slacking and wanted to catch up. However, I was so preoccupied with my reading that I didn’t review as much! It’s hard to review everything I read because sometimes my reactions or impressions of a book aren’t all that interesting. There are only so many times I can say “This book was amazing! I highly recommend it!”. That’s not to say that the book wasn’t amazing and I don’t recommend it but those types of reviews get boring. If there isn't any real meat to the review then why would anyone want to read it? So, I’ve been trying to pick out the books that I really want to review and just have fun reading the books I love to read. I mean, I do this blog for fun- I don’t want it to turn into a chore. I never want to wake up one day and go, “Ugh, I have to post something today…” I always want to open my laptop and be excited about what I’m about to write. So, yes, the reviews have slowed down and the book talks have slowed down but that doesn’t mean my passion has. It just means I’m too busy enjoying a book. Story of my life…

Back to books, I read some amazing books this month! I was just in a reading frenzy. I have been in many reading slumps lately and it’s because I’ve become a very picky reader. I no longer tolerate OK writing. If this is a good or bad, I'm not sure. But I'm much quicker at abandoning books that don’t hold my interest that I used to be. However, this month, all the books held my attention. I just couldn’t get enough of the books! It was wonderful. I much rather be overwhelmed by all the phenomenal books than be at a loss with just a few good books.

I really did mean to read more ARCs this month. I had every intention of doing so but Kerrigan Byrne just sucked me into her world. I read the ARC of How To Love A Duke In Ten Days and then just started devouring all her other books. It’s a bad(?) habit of mine. This is why I can never schedule a TBR list. I just get on kicks and then read that author or genre or series until I've exhausted all materials or I’m sick of it and then I move on to the next shiny object. I may have been some sort of fish in another life… 🐡. I do try to stick to a plan. I even make monthly TBRs but those are mostly guidelines to my madness…

Here are the books that I read this month. As you can so easily see, I found my shiny object this month and totally swam with it. I did more book talks about Harry Potter than actual reviews because why write a review on any sort of Harry Potter book…? Anything I have to say has been said a billion times before me. So, mostly I just wrote my reactions and feelings towards Harry Potter as a first time reader in her twenties! This was a longer post but I had so much to say! In all I read 12 books- 3 audiobooks and 9 books! YAY!!!!

And I swear on my books, I will read The Priory Of The Orange Tree someday if it kills me! It just might!

May June be as great as a reading month as May!
