Buckhorn Beginnings Review
Title: Buckhorn Beginnings (Buckhorn Brothers, #1 & #2)
Author: Lori Foster
Publication Date: October 25, 2011
The only doctor in Buckhorn County, Kentucky, Sawyer Hudson knows a thing or two about saving lives. But when he rescues the beautiful Honey Malone from a car wreck and nurses her to health at his home, he finds himself dreading the day she's well enough to leave. Because now that he's met the woman of his dreams, he's not about to let her go....
Buckhorn's big, bad sheriff, Morgan Hudson, wants a wife—one who's even-tempered, undemanding and content with small-town life. So why can't he stop thinking about brazen Misty Malone? The dark-haired city girl is downright aggravating—not to mention she's found herself on the wrong side of the law. But though she may not be perfect, Morgan is hell-bent on convincing her they'd be perfect together!
No, your eyes are not deceiving you! I actually have a review up! I checked and the last time I wrote a review was March 8th! 😩. Isn’t it annoying when life gets in the way of your hobbies? I have no clue how other bloggers handle life and blogging. They must never sleep and sorry guys- but I LOOOOVE to sleep!
Anyway, back to my review! Last weekend was KissCon! I know you all must be tired of hearing about it by now but, too bad! I met so many fantastic people! I actually made two new friends!!! Angela and Jackie are the best! Then of course getting to meet authors and actually see them as humans instead of the book making machines I usually think of them as… But one of the coolest parts of going to a book con is getting book/author recs from other book nerds! One of the authors that was recommended to me was Lori Foster. But I also got to talk to her and take pictures with her before I knew she was an author! After finding out who she was I just had to snag one of her books. For my first Lori Foster read I picked up the Buckhorn series and WOW!!! I read this anthology in two days! I just could not stop reading!!!!
The first book in this series is Sawyer and the second book is Morgan. I just! The writing is fantastic, the characters are so well developed! Even though I did love these books there were a few things I did not like about them. One- the conflict in these books are on the back burner. The conflict brings the characters together and then is kinda forgotten. The main focus of these books are the romance, which duh! But if you’re going to have conflict flush it out. Don’t just make it then quickly wrap it all up at the end. Two- the men kinda kidnap the women… kidnapping of any degree is never a good thing…
However, even though those two points bugged me I DEVOURED these books. They were so funny! The brothers together were hilarious and the love between them all was so palatable. I could literally feel the love on the pages!
I highly recommend these books! And I’m going to go off now and read the rest of the series in a manic frenzy!
