Fantastic Beasts meets Assassin's Creed in this epic, gripping fantasy romance from debut author Maxym M. Martineau.

Exiled beast charmer Leena Edenfrell is in deep trouble. Empty pockets forced her to sell her beloved magical beasts on the black market—an offense punishable by death—and now there's a price on her head. With the realm's most talented murderer-for-hire nipping at her heels, Leena makes him an offer he can't refuse: powerful mythical creatures in exchange for her life.

If only it were that simple. Unbeknownst to Leena, the undying ones are bound by magic to complete their contracts, and Noc cannot risk his brotherhood of assassins...not even to save the woman he can no longer live without.

As I’ve said before- I’m a cover shopper. I was instantly drawn to this bright and intriguing cover. And the best part? The great cover leads to a wonderful story! When you open this book- you hit the ground running. It’s never ending adventure and magic! I had to make myself slow down while reading because I was reading as fast as I could and was missing details but I just had to keep going!

Noc has secrets on top of secrets! His detachment only makes him more interesting. You want to figure him out and uncover everything he is hiding. And Leena is just this powerhouse of stubbornness! I loved her and I loved her banter with Noc and the others in the story. The details are slowly revealed while in the midst of this life or death action. I was literally never bored. When I checked how far along I was for the first time I was at 45%… That’s how good it was. I was just completely enveloped in the plot and the friendship and the romance.

I could imagine every detail and every beast with perfect clarity. Martineau is a master world-builder! This was just such an epic adventure! I really have to hand it to Martineau and her imagination. It completely astonished me!!! She was able to transport me to this fantastical world of beasts, assassins, and different realms with such ease!

I highly recommend this lovely book- I read the book in two days. I just couldn’t put it down and now I’m very anxious to read the next book. Not everything is resolved by the end of the book and I just know the next book is going to be fantastic!!!

-Happy Reading
