Stolen by the Arziani Georgian crime mob as a child, 152 was raised and conditioned to be a Mona—the most subservient of the Arziani Blood Pit slaves.

Gorgeous and kind, she has been and under the imprisoning influence of the Type B drug and under the command of the Blood Pit Master’s sister, Mistress Arziani, for most of her life, until the Master calls her back home to Georgia.

He wants her under his total control, and Master always gets what he wants.

But when 152 is gifted to the Blood Pit’s fearsome champion death match fighter as a prize, 152 suddenly finds out that the men who appear most brutal, may just own the kindest hearts. And love may be found, even when living in hell.

Freedom, family, love, 152 will have to fight for what she wants and ultimately make an impossible choice.

Review:

When I found out this was going to be the last book in the Scarred Souls series I was more than a little devastated. I’ve loved this series from the start! Tillie Cole is one of the best writers when it comes to dark, edgy, and gritty romance. Sometimes while reading her books I wonder if she is ok… The books can be so dark that you almost feel uncomfortable for enjoying them!

This story was a little different from the rest of the books. You get the POV of 901, 152, and Luka! At first I really didn’t like that. I wanted the story to focus on 901 and 152 but by the end I really appreciated it. It was almost poetic to wrap up the final book with Luka as part of the main focus.
I think 901 may be my favorite male lead out of all the books. There was something just so crushing about this brave, courages, and strong man falling hard for a small and delicate woman who was just as strong, courages, and brave as him- only in different ways. 901 is completely different than the other male leads we have seen in this series. He has no desire to make friends or to have connections to anyone. All he cares about is fighting and winning. He literally sleeps, eats, and breathes winning, which is basically survival. He has found a way to survive and he has stuck with that. You really can’t fault him for that. Having watched other warriors be brought down because they had made friends or had fallen in love has shown 901 he can only depend on himself. Unfortunately, it all crumbles when 152 is placed in his cell.

152 is Master’s high mona. The master has this weird obsession with 152- this love/hate power struggle is shown between Master and 152. All Master wants is to abuse and humiliate 152 but he also wants her to love him and obsess over him like he does her. 152 shows a courage that differs from 901. She has to be strong and take Master’s abuse but she also has to pretend to enjoy it. She has found her own way of surviving- she fights a different type of fight than 901.

When Master gives 152 to 901 to mess with his mind, he does not realize he is bringing on his own downfall. At first 901 hates having 152 in his cell with him. He knows that Master is trying to play mind games with him but eventually he falls for 152’s strength along with her beauty and tenderness. In each other, they recognize kindred spirits and find peace in one another’s arms.

Their love is so sweet and tender- it is almost heartbreaking. You can’t help but have your heart swell with emotion when these two are together.

I don’t want to spoil the ending for anyone but it is amazing. It is climatic, brutal, and action packed. My heart raced as my eyes were glued to the pages! I was reading as fast as I could because I just had to keep going. The ending was amazing! Did I say that already? Just amazing!!!

All I will say about the epilogue is… it was perfect. It wrapped up all four stories perfectly. I found a smile on my face as I read the last few pages to this amazing!!! series.

Tillie Cole really is a master at writing thrilling, loving, and emotional characters and plots! I’ve never not loved one of her books! If you are a lover of dark, gritty, and sometimes brutal romances, Tillie Cole is the perfect author for you!

-Happy Reading!
