My Year In Books
I’m actually pretty proud of how many books I read this year, 75/60! I average about 100 books a year but this year I was working a lot more than usual and had a long commute, so I didn’t read as much as normal. I also found myself being extremely picky about the books I would spend my time on because I didn’t have time to waste. It was a whole thing… but surpassing my goal was really fulfilling- even though I wish I could have read more! I don’t think I’ll ever be happy with how many books I read because there will always be books I didn’t get to!
Every year I pick a theme for the books I will be reading that year; 2018 was the year of Reading Outside My Comfort Zone. 2019 will be the year of Big Books. You know which big books I’m talking about, right? Those books that you could kill someone with. Of course, I will read other books but my main focus will be on books that are 600+ pages. These big books are taking up way too much space in my TBR pile so if I knock some of them out I will feel much better. I’ve also been ignoring them because they are so long and will take longer to read. So, 2019 will not be about how many books I read but how many pages I read!
What are your reading plans for 2019?
